Who are we looking for:

Provides specialty engineering work in one or more engineering areas. Supports Project Manager by managing assigned internal project tasks. Performs QA/QC functions to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of work products. Supports marketing efforts and development of proposals. Mentors are less experienced staff.

Location: Hybrid - St. Charles, MO

Travel: Yes, local up to 80%

What You Will Be Doing at Woodard & Curran:

  • Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate engineering work in a specialty area. 
  • Carry out moderate to complex assignments requiring new or improved techniques and procedures. 
  • Assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products, or equipment when necessary data are insufficient or confirmation by testing is advisable. 
  • Assisted in the development of project-specific specifications, evaluated proposals, and issued requisitions in the area of specialty knowledge. 
  • Implement vendor information in a specific discipline design document. 
  • Perform QA/QC function as delegated by Employee/Project/Technical manager. 
  • Delegate work to and provide mentoring for junior-level staff. 
  • Develop and provide specialty area training to Engineers, Scientists, Geologists, Designers, and Drafters. 
  • Independently performs assignments with instructions as to the general results expected. 
  • Provides technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed project plans. 
  • Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of more junior engineer staff, estimates staffing needs, schedules and assigns work to meet completion date. 
What You Will Need To Succeed:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum, or equivalent, plus appropriate continuing education. 
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in a specialty area and strong knowledge of codes associated with their particular discipline are required. 
  • Motivated to excel in area of expertise. 
  • Ability to work completely autonomously and utilize junior staff to complete assignments. 
  • Member of a professional/technical society.

$95,000 - $117,000 a year
This position’s anticipated pay range is provided below; final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will be dependent on experience level as well as considering a % based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
