The Healthcare Data Analyst will be part of a team assisting health executives, administrators and managers who make and support strategic decisions to achieve business goals based on insights derived from understanding healthcare data. The Analyst will provide actionable insights that drive and operationalize management, process improvements and growth strategies for the health system and affiliated partners. Ultimately, this position plays a vital role in improving the quality of healthcare and patient outcomes, increasing the efficiency and lowering the cost of healthcare and enhancing the patient experience.

MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Compiling, organizing and managing large healthcare data sets.
• Analyzing data to assist in delivering optimal healthcare management and decision making.
• Using healthcare data to achieve administrative needs and goals.
• Understanding data storage and data sharing methods.
• Investigating data to find patterns and trends.
• Interpreting and converting data from complex models into usable information that is easy to understand
• Utilizing different data sources for analyses.
• Developing reports and presentations.
• Communicating analytic insights to management.
• Completes special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, healthcare administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 4 years’ experience in an analytic role
• Demonstrated skills in strategic and critical thinking
• Proficiency with database programming languages such as SQL.
• Proficiency with data manipulation tools
• Knowledge of data management applications
• Solid technical grounding, report writing, template building, project management and implementation experience
• Experience working with a variety of vendors and implementing and supporting multiple products for all applications is highly desirable
• Proactive in bringing issues to the senior management team and other leaders, building consensus and delivering practical solutions
• Comfortable presenting to senior management, Physicians and all levels of staff
• Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills
