Wonderspring is Hiring a Kindergarten Enrichment Teacher Near Havertown, PA

Are you an experienced early childhood educator? Wonderspring is seeking a Kindergarten Enrichment Teacher to join the team at our early childhood education center in Havertown. Join a team dedicated to creating a fun, nurturing environment where children learn and thrive. You’ll be responsible for planning and implementing lessons based on the Creative Curriculum and the PA Early Learning Standards; executing best practices in education and health and safety; conducting assessments; and collaborating with parents and teachers to promote optimal development of each child. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and implement lessons based on developmentally appropriate practices that reflect the approved curriculum objectives. Wonderspring uses Creative Curriculum.
  • Communicate weekly lesson plans with families and post the plans inside and outside of the classroom. 
  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children, be alert to the needs of children as individuals and as a group as outlined in the Wonderspring Supervision of Children and Child ID policies.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with children, parents, colleagues, and administrators. 
  • Teach children how to use acceptable alternatives to challenging behavior to reduce conflict by using provided techniques such as FLIP IT and Second Step. 
  • Observe children in the program throughout the year by recording observations, anecdotes, checklists, and other methods. 
  • Assess children’s progress, routines, and interests, and keep parents informed of their child’s development.
  • Conduct Family/Teacher Conferences at least twice a year in coordination with Center Administration.
  • Provide and maintain a neat, organized classroom; take responsibility for the upkeep of materials and equipment. Engage children in housekeeping activities by encouraging them to store their toys and supplies in designated areas.
  • Maintain a stimulating, aesthetically and educationally appealing room décor (display of children’s work, arrangement of bulletin boards, placement of books, science materials, etc.).
  • Provide support in tracking and escorting enrichment students to and from school district buses, ensuring their safe and punctual transportation while adhering to established safety protocols and procedures.
  • Manage the inventory and maintenance of all classroom supplies, furniture, materials, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and operational functionality to support effective teaching and learning environments. 
  • Collaborate in the preparation for licensing and monitor visits, actively participating in the planning process and assisting in ensuring compliance with regulations and standards set forth by licensing.
  • Engage in Wonderspring staff meetings, attend in-services, external training programs, and actively participate in center events to foster professional development, collaboration, and a cohesive team environment.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education, preferred. 
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with preschool through second grade children
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with parents/guardians.
  • Ability to maintain high level standards of confidentiality regarding center, staff, and family matters.
  • Knowledge and understanding of DHS licensing, Keystone Stars, and accreditation requirements.
  • Ability to relate well in a multicultural cultural classroom environment.
  • Basic Proficiency in Microsoft Word Office or Google Suite
  • First Aid/ CPR
