Women’s Center for Advanced Surgery - Tifton, is seeking a qualified Pre-op/PACU RN to administer diligent care to outpatients via monitoring, assessment, intervention, and continuous reassessment. Position is full-time, twelve-hour shifts, with TWO weeks off a month. Duties

• Assess, instruct, and prepare patients prior to surgery.
• Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct.
• Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure.
• Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure.
• Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria.
• Chart all findings in patient file.
• Answer patient questions and ensure patient comfort.
• Monitor patient’s post-operative for condition changes and post-operative symptoms of anesthesia, reporting any changes to the physician.
• Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies.
• Educate patients and their family members on post-operative care.
• Demonstrates the willingness to cross-train/float when/if the opportunity arises.

Requirements/Preferences

• An Associates or Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is required
• Current Georgia Registered Nurse license and BLS certification are required
• Minimum of one (1) year in Ambulatory Surgery, Outpatient Surgery, Recovery Room, or Medical/Surgical nursing preferred
