Provides professional nursing care for patients following established standards and practices. Prepares patients during office visits and assists patients and family members before, during and after a doctor’s visit. Works under the direct supervision of the physician. Refers matters outside their scope of duties to the Physician/Provider, Clinical Coordinator or Division Administrator (DA).

Job Duties:

• Performs general nursing care to patients (including phone and in-person triage), administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
• Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physician during treatment, examinations, and testing of patients.
• Records patients' medical history, vital statistics and additional information such as test results in electronic medical records (EMR).
• Collects blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, logs the specimens, and prepares them for testing.
• Administers injections and prescribed medications as directed by the physician.
• Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to the physician.
• Greets patients and prepares them for examination, screens patients for appropriate information and instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
• Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patients and family members regarding medications, test results and treatment instructions.
• Assists with referrals and medication refills.
• Maintains patient recall lists.
• Formulates and updates patient care plans, and orders, prepares, and inspects patient charts, records test and examination results in the patient chart.
• Prepares examination rooms, including restocking of supplies in treatment areas.
• Attends required meetings and participates in team activities and professional development activities.
• Represents division in a professional manner. Treats all patients, customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine or 2 years of OB experience
• Minimum of one year nursing experience in a clinic environment.
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Valid Florida RN license and BLS/CPR certification.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment in deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to communicate with coworkers, provider and patients in an effective manner.
• Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system.
• bility to maintain RN license by successfully completing 24 hours of continuing education hours every two years.
