With 100 locations and over 400 OB/GYNs and specialists across the country, Women’s Care provides comprehensive patient care in obstetrics, gynecology, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, gynecologic pathology, breast surgery, genetic counseling, maternal fetal medicine, laboratory services, and fertility.

The Genetic Laboratory Navigator provides professional clerical genetic support following established standards and practices. They will coordinate genetic reports with Genetic Counseling Services. This position may include clinical testing and sample handling.

• Work directly with the Genetic Supervisor to navigate genetic reports based on testing outcomes.
• Serve as main staff member to integrate laboratory testing processes with revenue cycle management, patient correspondence, and care center teams.
• Process genetic send-out samples; includes clinical testing and sample handling.
• Represent the laboratory in a courteous and helpful manner.
• Review patient reports and ensure all information is collected and correct.
• Scan and review patient charts.
• Treat all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
• Attend required meetings and participate in team activities and professional development activities.
• Demonstrates and embodies the Women’s Care mission and core values.
• Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two years clerical medical office experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to be a self-starter that can multi-task in a stressful, deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to communicate with coworkers and providers in an effective manner.
• Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system, preferably eClinicalWorks.
• Genetics and laboratory terminology a plus.
• ASCP or AAB certification preferred.
• Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
