The Audiologist is responsible for the implementation of a comprehensive and timely audiological service program for infants, children and adults at Woman's Hospital. Performance of duties will be in accordance with the Code of Ethics as set forth by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Performs other duties assigned by department management according to the policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Audiology or Doctorate of Audiology from an accredited college or university
• Current Louisiana state licensure
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or CFY status under supervision of certified Audiologist
• Licensed or eligible for licensure for hearing aid dispensing in Louisiana

Responsibilities:

• Reports test results in a completed evaluation form in 48 hours or less utilizing a concise reporting format. Sends physician letter explaining results and outlining treatment plan.
• Compiles data and statistical information for program development and accountability records.
• Demonstrates proficiency in administering all audiological tests: ABR, OAE, Audios.
• Experience with Hearing Aid dispensing and Hearing aid testing.
• Monitors calibration of audiological equipment (e.g., ABR unit, OAE unit impedance bridge, portable and clinical audiometer).
• Identifies patient needs and initiates plan of care in a timely manner.
• Recommends, counsels, and assists in the development of a treatment plan with physicians, parents, patients, educators, and other health professionals.
• Accurately interprets all test results to include: Otoacoustic Emission, impedance, ABR, audio.
• Demonstrates the ability to make ear mold impressions and modifications and program various hearing instruments.
• Any other duties as assigned by Woman's Hospital.
