We are seeking a skilled and passionate Diesel and Gas Engine and Generator Technician to join our team in Madison, WI! As a key player responsible for diagnosing and repairing generators and/or engines on customer premises, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring our clients' equipment runs seamlessly, exceeding their expectations.

Position Summary: As a Field Service Technician for industrial engines and generators, you'll be entrusted with diagnosing and repairing equipment powered by diesel, gasoline, LPG, or natural gas engines on customer premises. Your mission: meet and exceed customer expectations through exceptional technical expertise and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Role Qualifications:

  • Maintain excellent rapport with customers.
  • Stay current with technical knowledge on products we support.
  • Ensure safety in all daily activities.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including off-hours emergency calls.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Complete all assigned service jobs with precision and dedication.
  • Communicate effectively with the Lead Technician for technical assistance and unusual service problems.
  • Attend service training classes to stay updated on new products and refreshers on less encountered ones.
  • Submit daily paperwork promptly, including time cards and maintenance reports.
  • Maintain open communication with dispatchers and the service office on job status and availability.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with territory sales representatives, keeping them informed of potential sales opportunities.
  • Adhere to safety rules and policies at all times.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Successfully complete required training courses.
  • Strong customer orientation with excellent communication skills.
  • Time management expertise for organizing and managing multiple priorities.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with laptop fundamentals.
  • Ownership of necessary tools for repairs, per our recommended tool list.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Certification to operate material handling equipment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Lift and carry up to 100 pounds on occasion.
  • Perform various physical activities such as standing, reclining, kneeling, walking, twisting, reaching, and using feet to repair and operate machinery.
  • Work in environments with loud noises, extreme temperatures, and vibration.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment as required.
