Wolfe Street Foundation is Hiring a SCSEP Youth Engagement Specialist (Training Program) Near Little Rock, AR

Job Summary:

The SCSEP Youth Engagement Specialist role (YES) is an exciting opportunity for a senior member of the community (55 ) to engage youth in the new Wolfe Street Foundation YEP Teen Center for the Youth Empowerment Project. The YES personnel will work collaboratively with and under the supervision of the YEP Project Program Coordinator.

The SCSEP Youth Engagement Specialist (YES) will welcome youth arriving to the WSF “YEP Teen Center”, youth program participants who are seeking community support for prevention/recovery from alcohol or substance use/abuse. The YES will also assist with check-in/check-out of youth participants during the program.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Welcome youth to the YEP Teen Center
  • Check-in/check-out youth from the YEP Teen Center using laptop/tablet
  • Create a positive atmosphere at the YEP Teen Center “Receptionist” area
  • Welcome and grant access to visitors
  • Participate in training to continually gain new skills
  • Attends required staff and other meetings

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Compassion for youth program participants who may be struggling with a Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work well with youth, WSF staff, TOV staff, healthcare professionals & other partner agencies.
  • The candidate must possess listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills are required and the ability to provide youth program participant documentation in the software system provided.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Job Type: Part Time
  • Pay: $11 per hour
  • Expected hours: 20hrs per week.

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS SCSEP POSITION?

  • 55 years of age or older
  • A resident of the State of Arkansas
  • Is not employed at the time of application for participation in the program
  • Household income is at or below 125% of the current Federal Health and Human Services Poverty Guidelines

This position is funded through a grant from the Department of Labor.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to $11.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
