POSITION REPORTS TO: Vice President, Facilities 

POSITION MANAGES: None 

POSITION LOCATION: 100% On-Site 

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts seeks a Manager, Facilities to manage the overall condition of all Wolf Trap Foundation utilized facilities at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts (the “Park”), which includes planning and overseeing ongoing maintenance, and recommending/implementing improvements of these facilities to ensure optimal functionality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee maintenance, improvements, and general upkeep of all Wolf Trap Foundation rental and donor spaces at the Park, which include the Pavilion and Lounge structures, the grounds immediately surrounding the Pavilions and Lounges, and the respective buildings. Perform maintenance if needed.
  • Oversee grounds keeping of the Wolf Trap Foundation designated parking at the Park, at the Meadow Ridge picnic decks, and at the Meadow Commons Building. Perform maintenance if needed.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize future short-term and long-term maintenance and improvement project needs through comprehensive assessment and analysis of facility requirements and industry trends.
  • Develop and manage timelines and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals and priorities. Manage vendor relationships, including researching and selecting vendors for various projects and serving as primary point of contact.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Rentals and Special Events team to determine event needs of Pavilion and Lounge spaces and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Provide on-site support for Special Events Team during rental and donor events, as needed.
  • Provide on-site support for the Program and Production Team and Food and Beverage Team, as needed.
  • Supplement the National Park Service staff in performing and maintaining the upkeep of the Back of House artist area at the Filene Center.
  • Provide back-up support for the other members of the Facilities Team as needed.

Qualifications


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree or equivalent, transferrable experience required
  • 5-7 years of related work experience in facilities, project management and/or relevant trades (e.g. electric, plumbing, HVAC)
  • Certification(s) in project management and/or relevant trades preferred

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • During months of April – November, frequently work during early morning, evening, and/or weekend hours as needed
  • For remainder of the year, occasionally work during early morning, evening, and/or weekend hours as needed
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding customer service, internal client relationship, and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated time management and project management skills, with evidence of overseeing, prioritizing, and executing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong cost management, problem solving, and 3rd party vendor management skills
  • Proficiency in computers and appropriate software including but not limited to: the Microsoft Office suite, facilities management platforms, and lighting/HVAC management programs
  • Sensitivity and commitment to the mission of Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Remain in a stationary position 50 percent of the time
  • Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment (i.e. calculator, copier, printer, etc.)
  • Regularly walk, stoop, bend, and reach with arms
  • Frequently lift/move up to 30 pounds
  • Occasionally ascend/descend a ladder to service areas within and around managed facilities
  • Occasionally operate power tools, hand tools, and landscaping equipment (both powered and manual)
