Job Description: Enchanter/Barista

The Enchanter is the face of Wolf and Mermaid Enchanted Roasters. We need energetic, outgoing, self-starting professionals. The requirements of an Enchanter include “hard” and “soft” skills. The soft skills include the following:

• Greet people in a friendly manner. Make customers feel at home by being engaging, interested, and kind.
• Communicate clearly, professionally, promptly, and kindly with coworkers and owners regarding issues, feedback, suggestions, etc.
• Show initiative in improving process, learning about coffee, looking for ways to better address our customers’ needs

Hard skills include the following:

• Open, close and set up coffee shop. This may involve some of the following:
• Set up and charge coffee pots
• Remove chairs from tables
• Take out garbage
• Clean bathrooms
• Fill deli case with goodies
• Mop floors
• Set out signage
• Wash dishes
• Taking inventory

• Prepare espresso drinks including specialty drinks, iced drinks, shakes, etc.
• Assist with pastry baking
• Learn and be able to explain and sell all varieties of coffee that we roast
• Participate in roasting, bagging, and mailing coffee
• Be available for events, catering, etc

Wolf and Mermaid are dedicated to education and improvement of our staff. There may be opportunities for travel to coffee farms, coffee conferences, etc. As a small company we anticipate there will be several opportunities for advancement and growth into leadership roles.

The “soft skills” listed above are the most important prerequisites for this job. We will train you to perform all of the “hard skills.” Previous experience is a plus- but a kind, energetic, motivated person is preferred- no matter what their experience is.

Work Location: In person
