Job Description Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Managing Editor, Integrated Initiatives and Digital Content coordinates content collaboration and explores new possibilities across all businesses to ensure a cohesive approach to aligning content with both current and prospective audience goals. The Managing Editor, under the sole direction of the President and CEO: Oversees, originates, and project manages “tent pole projects” including collaboration across the company, formulates KPI’s, conducts post event evaluations, and measures success; Promotes collaboration by working closely cross-functionally across the organization to ensure alignment and integration of content; Leads pilot content projects and initiatives that will develop future audience strategy in underrepresented communities; Analyzes research and compiles data for the CEO to help inform programming decisions; Identifies trends to inform content strategy and drive growth opportunities; Works with CEO and production leaders to develop new opportunities to grow audiences and distribution; Works with CEO and other leaders on pilot content projects and initiatives that will inform future content strategy; Partners with WNET’s content producers to expand the reach of our content across digital platforms to engage new, younger, and more diverse audiences; Oversees a digital production team and will launch new digital initiatives determined by the CEO, such as those that promote content aimed at our targeted audiences; Serves as a resource to support all digital producers throughout the organization to encourage collaboration, provide updates on latest trends, and sharing of best practices; Works to build an indelible programming brand for WNET that differentiates our digital productions and ensures demonstrable, long-term value for our programming and brands; Works with IT and content producers to build greater digital capacity and production models; Demonstrates a strong commitment to building a positive and collaborative internal culture within the content team, including developing an environment improving diversity, equity, and inclusion; Represents President and CEO at content meetings. Qualified candidates will be effective organizers and a trusted collaborators who can envision larger opportunities and partnerships. Additional qualifications include: A minimum of 10 years of experience overseeing a digital team (content creation, online publishing, or product development); Deep understanding of digital content strategy with ability to collaborate across multiple platforms; Familiarity with digital video production, audience development, social media strategies, paid media, ad serving platforms and SEO marketing; Knowledge of digital distribution and product landscape; Working knowledge of YouTube, OTT, or digital video platforms preferred (OTT includes Xbox, Apple TV, Roku Creative; Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed environment and comfortable working at all levels and across platforms; Willing to collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders; A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging as a core principle of the organization's work. Salary ranges are based on benchmarked nonprofit and industry related data provided by an outside consulting firm and are commensurate with skills and experience. The hiring salary range for this position is $175,000 - $183,000. Internal equity considerations will be reviewed before making a final offer.
