As the Junior Mechanical Designer, you will have the opportunity to design a variety of projects from the many industries we serve. The Junior Mechanical Designer will report directly to the Vice President of Engineering.

Mechanical Designer Priorities

• Assist in the design of mechanical (HVAC) systems on a variety of projects under the supervision of the Project Engineers and Firm Principals
• Develop accurate designs complying with company drafting standards, practices, policies, and procedures
• Develop designs/drawings needed for mechanical systems per applicable standards and codes
• Assist in the heating/cooling load calculations and building energy modeling
• Prepare technical reports, edit specifications, and undertake technical investigation studies
• Coordinate internally with the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering, and design teams
• Participate in the QA/QC process, project time budgeting, milestone design review and inter-discipline cross-checking
• Coordinate with Code Officials and provide code summaries for projects
• Coordinate time and schedule to work on multiple projects concurrently
• Participate in all scheduled team communication and meetings

What You Need

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience designing mechanical systems including HVAC air and water systems
• Minimum Associates or Technical Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering, Construction or similar
• Work Experience in AutoCAD and Revit 2018 or newer
• Knowledge or willingness to learn building and energy codes, and working with Utility Companies and Local Municipalities
• Propensity for Critical Thinking to problem solve
• Effective Verbal and Written Communications skills
• Willingness to be mentored and develop hard and soft skills
