Your Impact:

At WNA Engineering, the ideal candidate will have some experience or understanding of the construction industry and an interest in HVAC design to effectively understand how to execute our vision and mission. Serving as the Junior Mechanical Designer, you will be an asset in supporting the design of a variety of projects from the many industries we serve. The Junior Mechanical Designer will report directly to the Vice President of Engineering. This opportunity is available at the Pittsburgh or Portersville offices.

Mechanical Designer Priorities

• Assist in the design of mechanical (HVAC) systems on a variety of projects under the supervision of the Project Engineers and Firm Principals
• Develop accurate designs/drawings that comply with all applicable codes and company drafting standards, practices, and procedures
• Assist in the heating/cooling load calculations and building energy modeling
• Prepare technical reports, edit specifications, and undertake technical investigation studies
• Coordinate internally with the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering, and design teams
• Participate in the QA/QC process, project time budgeting, milestone design review and inter-discipline cross-checking
• Coordinate with Code Officials and provide code summaries for projects
• Coordinate time and schedule to work on multiple projects concurrently
• Participate in all scheduled team communication, meetings, and trainings

What You Need

• Minimum Associates or Technical Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering, Construction or similar
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience designing mechanical systems including HVAC air and water systems
• Relevant Work Experience in AutoCAD and Revit 2018 or newer
• Knowledge or willingness to learn building and energy codes, and working with Utility Companies and Local Municipalities
• High level of Personal Integrity and Honesty with one's ability
• Propensity for Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
• Effective Verbal and Written Communications skills
• EIT certification a plus!
