Walker Methodist River Heights is recruiting for a fulltime Lead Resident Assistant that is responsible for providing work guidance, and leadership to other Resident Assistants while ensuring residents’ individualized needs are executed per the care plan. Provide resident centered care while providing exceptional customer service. Assist residents who are functionally, physically and/or socially impaired. Assist residents with those activities of daily living that they are unable to perform without help, encouraging each resident’s independence and freedom of choice. Assist residents with medication administration and provide medication assistance under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

Schedule:

Full time availability which includes every other weekend and a rotating holiday schedule.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Previous experience in assisted living or long-term care.
  • 1-3 years providing work direction or training to a team/or demonstration of thought leadership.
  • Previous experience working with residents with dementia.
  • Ability to work with a senior population, working to enhance their optional health and psychosocial needs.
  • Ability to work within a team, cooperative, flexible, positive attitude.
  • Strong resident-centered and customer service mind-set with the ability to be compassionate, responsible, and comfortable working with individuals with various health issues and disabilities.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence through informal leadership.
  • Ability to utilize a computer for education and training, and documentation of resident information.
  • Willingness to recognize and act on observed customer needs, including those outside of normal duties but within scope of practice.
  • Ability to foster and adherence to Walker Methodist’s mission and values.
