What you'll do... About Team: Building the right technology foundation for Infrastructure & platforms is vital to success at the scale of Walmart. Our team builds and maintains the foundational technologies that support the tech organization. Included in this are data platforms, enterprise architecture, DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure. What you'll do: Leadership: Provide strategic leadership to the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Manage and mentor a team of skilled engineers, fostering professional growth and development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with business goals and product roadmaps. Technical Oversight: Oversee the design and development of Data Access Layer and SDKs for various managed services, including DBaaS, Keyvalue, Cache, etc. Ensure the architecture, implementation, and delivery of solutions meet industry best practices and comply with security standards. Drive technical excellence, code quality, and adherence to coding standards across the engineering team. Product Development: Collaborate with product managers to define and refine product requirements, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market trends. Lead the execution of product development plans, ensuring timely and high-quality releases. Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in our managed services offerings. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and experimentation within the engineering team. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain robust testing processes to ensure the reliability and performance of Data Access Layer and SDKs. Work closely with QA teams to establish testing frameworks and methodologies. Provide technical and Architecture guidance to the team Get deep in the technical including coding if required. What you'll bring: Competencies Proven experience (15 years) in leading engineering teams, preferably in the context of managed services or cloud computing. Strong background in designing and implementing Data Access Layer and SDKs for distributed systems. In-depth knowledge of databases, key-value stores, caching technologies, and related concepts. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or similar. Demonstrated ability to drive technical vision, strategy, and execution. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Deep Knowledge in architecting and designing the large scale systems. Hands on experience in building systems.
