As an Associate Packaging Material Engineer, you'll deliver world-class packaging solutions that enable us to deliver the quality products our customers and consumers expect. Your technical abilities and people skills will ensure that projects are completed to meet technical requirements (including sustainability), timelines, budget, quality, and supply chain needs all while delivering for our customer and consumer.

HERE'S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Developing Packaging - Manages and leads several projects ranging from multiple small to focused medium/large sized projects and/or programs to scale-up and introduce new packaging, improve quality, product margins, productivity, and capacity in Operations.
  • Project Leadership - Bring people together cross functionally to make meaningful decisions on recommended options, specifically within food development, supply chain, marketing, procurement, quality, and sales. Using your packaging expertise, you'll evaluate supply options and technologies based on performance, cost, sustainability, and overall flexibility.
  • Supply Chain Enabling - Partner with our Equipment Engineering and Supply Chain teams to understand and define process needs and capabilities as they relate to the targeted production line. Work with appropriate resources to schedule plant/equipment testing and provides test plan. Ensures adequate materials, resources, and timing for plant testing that will ultimately drive towards a successful project execution.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
  • Bachelor's degree required; Material or Packaging Engineering concentration a PLUS
  • Ability to make recommendations on new products, processes and technologies (including sustainable packaging solutions).
  • Understands competitive set and competitor technology differences. Ability to apply in market trends to innovation plan.
  • Develops the plan for completing the product development phase of a project. Provides significant input toward resolving conflicts in the project timeline. Manages conflicts between timelines of different projects.
  • Prepares plans and reports to effectively coordinate work with plants, suppliers, and supply chain. Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems that arise during plant testing and scale-up.
  • Communicates effectively to influence project direction and management.
  • Understands when to bring together key players to resolve project related issues. Functions effectively as a project team member and technical expert. Able to facilitate the participation of appropriate resources in project completion.
  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and/or Project Management experience a PLUS
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment a PLUS
