WJE Talent Network - Orange is Hiring a Technical Editor - Part-time Near Emeryville, CA

Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) is looking for a part-time Technical Editor to support our San Francisco office, located in Emeryville, California.

The Part-time Technical Editor will be responsible for managing activities to ensure high levels of quality and productivity.

A successful person in this role will perform work that is often complex and technical requiring initiative, independent thinking, judgment, and superior interpersonal skills. They will manage high-level technical writing projects, synthesize complex concepts clearly and accurately, and articulate them in verbal and/or written format.

Our administrative and technical staff work together closely to provide our clients with excellent customer support and unsurpassed technical work product.

Responsibilities:

  • Create Statements of Qualifications in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Qualifications (RFQs)
  • Assist with the creation of complex documents utilizing multiple software programs and digital images
  • Coordinate and assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentation materials
  • Write/create project profiles
  • Provide advanced word processing using in-house templates
  • Provide advanced spreadsheet and presentation slides using in-house templates and knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Prepare first drafts, edit, proofread, and assemble outgoing correspondence and documents
  • Organize and archive electronic and hard copy project files and drawings

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (English, communication, marketing, business, or similar a plus) or six years to eight years of prior administrative work experience
  • Business development/marketing-related experience
  • Construction industry-related experience preferred
  • Experience using photo editing, pdf viewing/editing, and Deltek Vision software preferred
  • Curiosity to learn new computer software as needed for projects (for example, AutoCAD, database software, etc.)
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and project deadlines

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. This position requires visual acuity and listening ability along with the ability to read and write. Individuals must have the dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, telephones, voicemail systems, and other office equipment. The position requires the ability to remain for extended periods at a workstation, as well as the ability to lift 25 pounds.

The expected hourly rates for candidates who meet the above criteria range from $34.37 an hour to $60.00 an hour based on experience.
