Job Summary
The Charge Nurse is a Registered Nurse under the direct supervision of the respective Clinical Director. This position is responsible for daily operation of their assigned areas and focuses on clinical responsibilities, which include some assigned managerial involvement, as needed. This individual demonstrates core competencies within the discipline of Nursing and patient care. This position integrates daily patient care within the Witham Health Services philosophy in all aspects of the job performance and interpersonal relationships. This position is directly responsible for ensuring staffing and consulting with the Clinical Director when all alternatives have been exhausted or when agency use is needed. This position will have 24/7 coverage during the Director’s absence and/or when placed in the unit “on-call status.
Minimum Education/License/Certification Requirements
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing program, Bachelors preferred. 
• Must hold a valid license to practice Nursing in the State of Indiana. 
• Must have two (2) years previous clinical experience with expertise in assigned area of responsibility.
• Must have 1 year in previous related supervisory experience.
