Job Summary
Preps and grosses tissue for sectioning, sections, prepares slides, stains slides for Pathologist. Maintains appropriate logs for specimen tracking. Files pathology, cytology and special histology reports. Maintains equipment in the Histology Department and maintains service records. Collects specimens from patients, maintains laboratory requisition and result records.
Minimum Education/License/Certification Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited HT program.
- ASCP HT certified or certification eligible within 1 year.
- 1 year experience, recent graduates eligible.
