The ideal candidate will learn the ins and outs of all accounting-related processes with a focus on timely and accurate financial reporting. Client deliverables include internal/external/board level/departmental client financial statements and/or management reporting packages.

This role is heavily client-facing, has tremendous opportunities for growth and provides high visibility to Senior Leadership within the organization.

What you will do:

• Typical client assignments will include all areas of responsibility a private company controller/CFO would be tasked with handling.
• Assist team members staffed on interim controller/CFO/outsourced accounting projects
• Gain an understanding of how client accounting departments function, evaluate the current workflow and organizational structure of; assist clients in adopting new processes, procedures and technology.
• Assist with month-end close including bank and credit card reconciliations, balance sheet rollforwards, posting journal entries for prepaid expenses/accrued expenses/payroll/revenue recognition, etc., and reviewing monthly balance sheets and income statements for trends, etc.
• Assist team members with ad-hoc specialty projects on emerging issues (think CARES Act, new technology, new accounting standards, etc.)
• Research third party solutions for client pain points, tedious tasks and/or manual work that is performed outside of the accounting system. Work with Business Advisory team members to develop pertinent Key Performance Indicators for businesses, set targets, monitor progress.
• Support the team on accounting system conversion projects.

What we are looking for:

• Undergraduate or Graduate degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field
• An individual with plans to pursue their CPA is highly desired.
• Internship experience in the public accounting industry is preferred.
• Candidates should be detail oriented and interested in pursuing a career in public accounting. We are looking for highly motivated team players who possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, in addition to exhibiting effective problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn and advance your proficiency in a variety of accounting systems and desire to focus on continuous learning and improvement.
