Wise School is Hiring a Digital Content and Special Projects Coordinator Near Los Angeles, CA

About the Job:

Stephen Wise Temple is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Digital Content and Special Projects Coordinator to facilitate the fast-paced internal communications needs for its 1,600-member Reform Jewish community. As a primary content creator for Stephen Wise Temple, we will look to you to make sure our community is informed and excited about our mission, vision, and programs.

The responsibilities of this role span a broad range of tasks, including content creation, social media management, and event publicity. From drafting engaging content for diverse audiences and marketing channels through collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will create and execute cohesive and effective communications of all kinds. You will help maintain our brand across various platforms, and you’ll actively engage with congregants and constituents in doing so.

With a large clergy and executive team, multiple centers for learning and programs, and a very busy calendar of events, every day will present different opportunities to use your creativity to help the organization grow and thrive.

About You:

You are a thoughtful and clear communicator, most importantly a strong writer and copy editor. You are a digital storyteller, fluent in different communication styles and channels. You are able to identify target audiences and the right channels to reach them. You love to create engaging copy and attractive content. You have a passion for digital communication of all kinds, strong technical acumen, the ability to work across different platforms, and an interest in telling the organization’s story through creative materials, engaging email campaigns, social media, and more. You are creative and express that creativity through your writing, design, and problem-solving abilities. You have strong attention to detail in all aspects of your work. You easily juggle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. You are familiar with Jewish culture, spirituality, and traditions or possess a strong desire to learn more. You are excited to tell the story of Wise’s unique history, present, and future in the Los Angeles and American Jewish landscape.

Responsibilities include:

Draft, edit, and schedule daily, weekly, and monthly e-newsletters; collaborate with clergy and leadership on event-specific publicity.

  • Update and maintain website content in coordination with the Media and Production Manager.
  • Design and develop digital content for events, holidays, and more.
  • Oversee content creation, scheduling, and posting for social media platforms, especially Facebook and Instagram, using Hootsuite and/or Meta Business Manager or similar.
  • Use CRM effectively for marketing purposes.
  • Track projects (print, digital, graphics, and video) from creation to distribution.
  • Help manage outdoor/front-of-house signage and signage fixtures (permanent and temporary), electronic displays, and promotional material displays.
  • As a staff member in our religious educational institution, role-model the tenets of our faith on a daily basis to our members and the broader Temple community; participate in transmitting the expectations and values of our faith, playing a critical and essential role in the Temple’s ability to minister to the daily needs of our students and members;
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, writing, or a related discipline.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills;
  • Highly detail-oriented with superior organizational skills;
  • Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment;
  • Fluency with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok especially) and content creation tools and strategies;
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, MS Office Suite, CRM (familiarity with ShulCloud a plus), Work OS (Monday.com a plus), and basic HTML (WordPress a plus);
  • Familiarity with Jewish calendar and culture, or a willingness to learn; and,
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends.

Compensation

  • Full-time, non-exempt position
  • Salary is $65,000
  • Hybrid position, up to 40% remote after the introductory period
