Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center - Waukesha is Hiring a Small Animal Surgeon Near Waukesha, WI

Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center is seeking multiple board-certified surgeons, or individuals who have completed residency training, to join our team at two of our multi-specialty referral centers in Southeastern Wisconsin. The successful candidate will have one base clinic during the week, while weekends on call are shared among all surgeons for all locations.

  • 1 to join two existing surgeons at our Waukesha location.
  • 1 to rejuvenate a pre-existing single surgeon service at our Grafton location.

The position available at our Grafton hospital offers you the opportunity to rebuild the service from the ground up. You will contribute to the evolution of protocols, select additional equipment, configure a schedule, and continue to develop the pre-existing team with the support of hospital leadership and business development. The caseload is driven by our complimentary services within the WVRC network. Our surgery team sees a wide range of general soft tissue, oncologic and orthopedic surgery, and is also looking to grow the number of minimally invasive procedures performed.

About the hospitals:
WVRC is a VECCS level one certified hospital and provisional trauma center with locations in Waukesha, Racine/Kenosha and Grafton, WI. Our broad range of specialists include those in Cardiology, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Critical Care, Surgery, Neurology, Anesthesiology, Ophthalmology and Dentistry, as well as a large team of emergency veterinarians, emergency-focused and rotating interns, dedicated technicians, and client-focused support staff. There is a full-time social worker on staff to support our team and clientele.


Our equipment and technology:
WVRC is fully equipped with arthroscopic, laparoscopic and thoracoscopic equipment, Force-Triad/ligasure, wound VAC, and a full array of orthopedic and soft tissue instrumentation (all locations). New towers dedicated to the surgery team have recently been added in 2021. In addition, we have a full array of diagnostic equipment including digital radiography, ultrasound and 16 or 64 slice CT (Waukesha and Racine/Kenosha) and 1.5T MRI (Waukesha). WVRC also has a full-service laboratory facility (Zoetis Reference Laboratory) within the Waukesha location to provide rapid, high-quality diagnostic capabilities.
