Our modern facility includes a complete in-house tool and die department and fastener distributorship.JOB DESCRIPTION:The Quality Control Technician is responsible for the direct examination of product to insure that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with customer specifications. Requiring a high level of attention to detail, the Quality Control Technician is responsible for strictly adhering to the organization’s quality assurance policies, and identifying defects and or production errors in order to prevent these materials from entering the supply chain. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Inspection of production material as assigned for defects as trained.
  • Remove defective items from production, designating reason for removal.
  • Report defects to the appropriate manager.
  • Perform internal QA audits that are compliant with ISO 9001 requirements, corporate policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Assist with the maintenance of QA monitoring programs, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers.
  • Support new product development and continuous improvement and by integrating quality tools into processes.
  • Comply with Company QA programs for monitoring supplier quality, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers.
  • Create and maintain QA control documentation.
  • Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization.
  • Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and First Article Inspection Reporting (FAIR).
  • Calibration and management of gages.
  • CMM Programming.
  • Adopt and incorporate quality methods into their work.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation.
  • Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change.
  • Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
  • One year certificate from college or technical school, three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of measuring tools such as but not limited to: tape measures, micrometers, calipers, height gage, bore gages, and optical comparameters.
  • CMM and layout experience desired.
  • Background in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T) and an understanding of ISO 9001.
