The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is looking for two Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVTs) to join team in either a part-time or full-time capacity! This position will be based out of our Spay/Neuter Clinic in West Allis. Full-time applicants have the option to work fully at the clinic or spend some of their time in our shelters! As a CVT at WHS, you will make an impact by supporting our awesome clients and their animals. You will hone your surgical skills while working alongside veterinary professionals and a management team dedicated to supporting your growth, development, and well-being.
The WHS Spay/Neuter Clinic is a high-quality clinic dedicated to making spay/neuter services affordable and accessible to all pet owners. We perform thousands of surgeries each year through our public services and programs like Pets for Life, making a positive impact not only on individual animals, but the whole community. The schedule for this position is first-shift and requires weekday availability until 5:30pm. WHS offers a competitive starting wage of $20-25/hour, financial support for continuing education and license renewal, plus we’re currently offering a signing bonus!

WHS is currently offering a signing bonus of up to $1,500. Eligible hires can earn $750 after 90 days of employment and additional $750 after 6 months for a total of $1,500!

Founded in 1879, the Wisconsin Humane Society has been saving the lives of animals in need for nearly 140 years. WHS is a 501(c)(3) organization and operates animal shelters in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Door and Brown Counties, as well as a spay/neuter clinic in West Allis. WHS annually serves 40,000 animals. We receive no general government funding and we are not part of any national umbrella organization. As the largest shelter in the state of Wisconsin, WHS offers the following specialized services: --A comprehensive adoption program that matches 10,000 homeless animals with new families;... there are no time or space limits for any animals in our adoption program. We receive nearly all the area's surrendered animals, as well as animals from local and state animal control facilities, and animals transferred from other shelters. --Affordable spay/neuter services open to the public at the WHS Spay/Neuter Clinic in West Allis. --A pet food bank to assist families with pets through tough financial times. --Youth programs for children and adults designed to teach compassion, respect and responsible care for animals. --Intervention programs for children to end neglect and abuse and break the link between violence against animals and humans. --Outreach programming to serve families with pets in underserved areas. --A foster program for animals in domestic violence situations. --Dog training classes for dogs and puppies. --A Wildlife Rehabilitation Center that provides rescue, rehabilitation and release for 5,000 wild animals annually, at our Milwaukee Campus.
