Wireless Telecom Group is Hiring a Senior RF Test Engineer Near Parsippany, NJ

Wireless Telecom Group (WTG), Inc., comprised of Boonton Electronics, Holzworth, and Noisecom and CommAgility, is a global designer and manufacturer of advanced RF and microwave components, modules, systems and instruments. Serving the wireless, telecommunication, satellite, military, aerospace, semiconductor and medical industries, WTG products enable innovation across a wide range of traditional and emerging wireless technologies. We have a new opportunity for Senior RF Test Engineer for the Boonton, Noisecom, and Holzworth brands within our Parsippany, New Jersey facility.

The Senior RF Test Engineer will be responsible for development and maintenance of a suite of test procedures and software utilities used to manufacture and calibrate a line of high-performance RF test instruments. As a key member of the test engineering team, the engineer will be responsible for planning and implementation of automated test systems and software, maintaining and updating existing utilities, and supporting test technicians during deployment and use.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop, deploy and maintain test and verification programs for sophisticated electronic test equipment.
  • Design and automate calibration reports and certificates.
  • Analyze and archive calibration data and performance metrics.
  • Work with production technicians and supervisors to deploy automated test utilities.
  • Serve as primary interface between the software engineering and production groups.
  • Support engineering requests for test data and analysis.
  • Support and/or modernize legacy test system programs and processes.
  • Produce all test and calibration software required to support new products to ensure smooth and timely transition to manufacturing.
  • Create, update and maintain documentation related to production test programs.
  • Maintain and develop instrument software and firmware loading procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related field.
  • Five to 10 years of experience using or supporting RF and microwave or various electronic test equipment such as RF power meters, RF signal generators/synthesizers, phase noise analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, , etc. – through both manual and remote operation.
  • Proficiency in at least two of the following languages: C, C , C#, Python, or VB.NET.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Windows Forms development using C#.
  • Automated data lookup and storage to Microsoft Excel templates using C#.
  • Familiarity with using VISA (Virtual Instrument Software Architecture) to control test equipment.
  • Python scripting and application development.
