Job Description

Position Mission: The Fiscal Agent Staff Accountant provides a variety of financial services on behalf of individuals with disabilities and/or long-term care needs.

How will you achieve this mission?

  • Manage medical billing and payroll databases. This includes setting up new consumers and employees, creating charges, conducting necessary maintenance on existing consumers and employees, assigning the correct charge codes and ensuring the correct authorizations have been received and are in place.
  • Communicate with Case Managers on a regular basis regarding missing or incomplete paperwork and rejected claims.
  • Meet with families to assist in completion of setup documents.
  • Import electronic files into medical billing software, post it to the consumer account and match it to the correct charge.
  • Process payroll on a semi-monthly basis by collecting, managing and sharing information between the medical billing system, payroll software and WPS.
  • Create invoices to produce receivables from WPS; ensure dollar amounts correctly reflect payroll amounts and tax burden.
  • Create charges, run rejection reports and process remits; submit rejection reports to the appropriate county/ies for investigation and follow-up.
  • Manage pending collections and process refunds to carrier/s on a regular basis.
  • Manage Helpdesk requests through Spiceworks by reviewing tickets, researching the problem/issue and providing a timely response.
  • Process state unemployment tax returns and payments; upload information to state.

What do you need to achieve this mission?

Associate's Degree in Accounting; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Experience with Wisconsin Children's Long-Term Support Program (CLTS) will be considered in lieu of a Degree.

Skills and Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word and Excel
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations with tact and professionalism
  • Team-player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated efficiency in completing multiple projects within strict deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge and understanding of the CLTS program preferred
