WinTec Arrowmaker, Inc is Hiring a SME Information System Security Officer Near Hampton, VA

SUMMARY:  WinTec Arrowmaker, Inc. is a defense contractor dedicated to providing outstanding program management, engineering, logistics, and operations support to Department of Defense customers. The Subject Matter Expert (SME) Information System Security Officer will provide experienced and qualified personnel to perform Cybersecurity support services to assist ACC Cybersecurity Chief Information Security Officer and unit Information System Security Officers (ISSO) in maintaining an effective cybersecurity program that supports missions and adequately protects the confidentiality, integrity and availability of AF IC information resources; while reporting directly to the WinTec Program Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop local unit Cybersecurity programs and security plan IAW ACC, AF, IC, and DOD guidance.
  • Gather data, analyze compliance and report results on the condition and progress of local unit Cybersecurity programs, security plans, plan of action and milestones (POA&M) and Assessment and Authorization (A&A) workflow tools data, patch management, information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVA), DoD 8570.01M certifications, and Federal Information System Modernization Act (FISMA) compliance requirements, and Authorizations to Operate (ATOs) to unit leadership and HHQs as directed.
  • Interact with local units and HHQ IISMs to provide Cybersecurity assessments, courses of action, and solutions to commanders on how to improve their Cybersecurity programs.
  • Develop and provide on-the-job work center training to Government civilian, contractor, and military personnel on various IT security tools, policies and procedures required to protect resources and meet standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline with Air Force/DOD experience -OR- have Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline with an additional 5 Air Force/DOD experience for a total of 20 years, as a substitute to the master’s degree.
  • 15 years of experience conducting analysis relevant to Information System Security Officer with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
  • Possess IAT Level 2 and Current Security certifications.
  • Exhibits strong problem-solving skills, overseeing studies and conducting surveys to gather and analyze data for informed recommendations. Demonstrates analytical leadership, proficiency in planning and executing production methodologies, tradecraft, and techniques aligned with the Information System Security Officers 's mission. Provides strategic guidance and technical expertise to high-level Defense planners and policymakers, including those at the Undersecretary level or above.
  • Possesses comprehensive expertise in the full spectrum of IT security principles, encompassing concepts, practices, products, and services, including system and database software, as well as immediate access storage technology. Additionally, proficient in disseminating IT security tools and procedures, understanding IT security certification and accreditation requirements, utilizing Active Directory tools for account management, managing computer imaging and operating system upgrades, employing scanning tools for device patching, and utilizing trouble ticketing tools like Remedy. Capable of remote computer access for maintenance, administering computer domains, managing security controls for user accounts, executing Security Plus (Security ) functions, and adapting to both independent and team-oriented work environments. Familiarity with modifying file servers and shared permissions is also demonstrated.

  • Military background or familiarity with military command and control structures.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the organizational interface of military, federal, state, and local agencies. 
  • Demonstrate time management, problem-solving skills, self-motivation, eagerness to learn, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to efficiently react to shifting program requirements and work in a team environment.
  • Effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
