Winston Law Group, P.C.—an employment law firm representing employees—has an immediate opening for an associate attorney.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following (Other Duties May Be Assigned):

• Drafting pleadings, motions/oppositions, discovery requests and responses, mediation briefs, and other routine litigation documents
• Appear at court hearings and argue motions
• Take and defend depositions
• Experience with litigation in state and federal court procedures
• Participate in the formulation of litigation strategies and have primary day-to-day handling responsibility for a limited number of cases
• Draft settlement documents including settlement agreements, class notices, and proposed orders and judgments

Qualifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law and be a member in good standing with the California State Bar
• Knowledge of state and federal court procedural rules
• At least one (1) year of prior litigation experience
• Must have experience with summary judgment motions
• Must be a team-player, but be able to work independently on assigned tasks
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook
• Excellent professionalism and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills
• Prior experience with drafting pleadings, motions/oppositions discovery, case management statements, notices, and other legal documents
