Permanent Part-time. We will train in all aspects of position.
Must be able to commute and work in two locations: Port Jefferson Station and Holbrook offices
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: answering phones, accurately scheduling appointments, pulling and filing charts, chart preparation for office hours, collecting co-payments, bringing patients into exam rooms, cleaning exam rooms, assisting doctors with in-office procedures, sterilizing instruments in autoclave, maintaining inventory & ordering supplies, computer entry of patient demographics, assisting in billing activities.
Candidates should be detail-oriented, organized and courteous. Must have flexibility and availability to work other days. This job cannot be shared with daytime school hours; prefer no other weekday job as flexibility is needed to cover other days and other hours. Hours may vary with training in both offices to learn positions.
Required hours:
Tuesdays in Holbrook: 8:30 am - 2:30 pm
Thursdays in Port Jefferson Station: 11:30-5:00 pm
Friday mornings in Port Jefferson Station: 8:30 am-12:30 pm
Should be available to cover other work shifts and/or expand to working any of below:
Mondays in Holbrook: 8:30 am- 2 pm
Tuesdays in Port Jefferson: 9-noon or 1:30-5:30 pm
Wednesdays in Port Jefferson: 8:30-noon
Wednesdays in Holbrook: 1:30-5:30 pm
Guaranteed 15 hours per week with potential for expansion.
This is a part time position for the long term. We are looking for someone willing to make a multi-year commitment.
Since we need availability to cover other shifts, it will be difficult to have another job or day-time classes. We cannot work around student schedules.
Will train right person, including someone returning to the workforce or who has been out of the workforce for a period of time. Best for someone who feels comfortable with patients and fast pace. Job likely to expand to include billing entry and responsibilities in the future.
Computer literacy required. Prior experience a plus.
