Job Title: Quality Engineer
General Summary:Ensures the administration of Winsert’s Quality Management System by utilizing standard problem solving processes that are data driven, results oriented, and customer focused.Essential Job Functions:

Lead APQP activities for all products in the prototype, pre-launch, and production phases of manufacturing; update APQP activities to ensure compliance to IATF/ISO standards

Review and update APQP, CAR, Risk Mitigation, and SPC data and assignments.

Support new Projects and Prototype Activities

Provide training on and implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Root Causes Analysis, Gauging Techniques, Quality Tools, etc

Monitor process capability that meets customers’ requirements

Facilitate Six Sigma Quality Projects and Lean, Kaizen Continuous Improvement Projects

Perform MSA gage studies, Process Capabilities Studies

Maintain PFMEAs & PCPs

PPAP submittals

Quote new business opportunities with regards to the quality functionSecondary Job Functions:

Assist with corrective action activities for both internal and external customers

Produce a positive trend in scrap reduction activities

Investigate alternative methods of gauging for the new demands on tighter tolerances

Layered Audits

Internal Audits

Lead/Support a continuous improvement effort

Review customer supplied data (layouts, capabilities, etc)

Support various gage programming activities (CMM, Formscan, etc)

Update and maintain SPC database

Other duties as assigned

Support supplier development activitiesKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent time management skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to multi-task

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills - ability to communicate with all levels of authority

Good computer skills – Mini Tab, MS Project, Excel, TCM, Word, VISIO, Mind Manager, Reporting Programs, Data Analysis, Calypso, etc

Leadership – ability to train and assist other personnel

Ability to adapt to changing requirements with limited interruption or normal work flow

Good problem solving methodology (DMAIC, Plan-Do-Check-Act, etc)

Strong Math Skills/Statistical Analysis Skills

AIAG Quality Tools

Must get along with othersPhysical Demands:

Must be able to actively move through office space to work with staff

Vision must be correctable to allow reading/viewing of documents and computer screen

Hearing must be correctable to allow understanding of instructions and communication with others

Mobility and coordination must allow for required tasks to be completed.

Education and Experience:

BA or BS with a statistical background or equivalent work experience

Experience with 8 Discipline Correction Action, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and Six Sigma, Lean, Statistical Process Control, Mini Tab Software.

Background in IAFT/ISO standards
