WINPAK LANE is Hiring a WLI Mechanical Assembler I Near Rialto, CA

Assemblers perform tasks that are necessary to the production process. As an assembler, you must have an aptitude for mechanics and an eye for detail. An assembler should have the ability to comprehend and follow detailed verbal and written instructions, as well as diagrams, blueprints, and other technical documents. Must also maintain tidy work areas and follow detailed instructions to meet safety and quality requirements. Along with being a team player. Assemblers should have 2 to 5 years Mechanical Assembly Experience.

  • Using tools to make or repair parts and products.
  • Interpreting technical documents, such as diagrams, drawings, or other verbal or written instructions.
  • Working with other members of the group to assemble products.
  • Keeping a clean and tidy workspace.
  • Meeting all safety requirements of the company and industry.
  • Identifying any defective items and handling them according to established procedures.
  • Using reason to solve problems as they arise.
  • Communication to upper management regarding issues with the build, tooling, parts, or schematics
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Able to ascend and descend ladders.
  • Able to work at heights (at least 25 ft.)
  • Able to squat and sit for extended (at least 30 mins) periods of time.

Concerning specific skills in the Mechanical Assembler Position:

  • Will assemble complex packaging machines, make adjustments, and work within close tolerances based on established guidelines.
  • Responsible for verifying quality on assembled parts.
  • Verifies starting materials to ensure assemblies are complete prior to beginning job.
  • Verifies final alignment(s) and powers on machines prior to shipment.
  • Verifies that material meet the specification to ensure quality.
  • Complies with all 5S and CI initiatives.
  • Follows all facility and department specific safety rules, procedures, and programs. Wearing all required personal protective equipment for all plant, department, and task specific requirements.
  • May be asked to assist in training of new employees.
  • Maintains regular attendance and excellent punctuality.
  • Work overtime as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to look up drawings and identify parts that are made wrong or short to complete the assembly.
  • Must be able to operate necessary tooling required to complete Mechanical assembly of W18 machines.
  • Maximum Work Orders that can be late can be no more 15% of total Work Orders

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to use hands regularly to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, controls and equipment. The employee is required to both see and hear. The employee must be able to walk, sit and stand. The employee occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs., and occasionally kneels and bends.
Work Environment:
The environment is both office and manufacturing. The manufacturing environment is subject to moderate changes in temperature and the employee will be exposed to typical hazards of noise, flying debris, and overhead hazards requiring the use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
The position will interface with the Manufacturing, Engineering, Accounting, and Purchasing departments as necessary. This position will also require overtime as necessary.
