Winona Health is Hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant(CMA)- Podiatry and Ortho Clinic Near Winona, MN

Starting Wage of $20.55/hr

0.9 FTE, 72 Hours a Pay Period
Days, Hours between 6:30 am - 5:00 pm
No Weekends
No Holidays

The Clinic LPN is responsible for the care of the clinic patients under the direction of the RN or the provider. The LPN is responsible to deliver the highest of customer service standards for patients and families presenting for services at Winona Health. The LPN will perform patient care including rooming of patients, performing observations and gathering of data for the
provider. Patient information will be entered into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Direct patient care will include but is not limited to taking of vital signs, monitoring of patients, treatments, administration of medications, scheduling and coordination of care for patients referred for specialty care and general assistance to the provider as needed. Other responsibilities may include phlebotomy, performing lab tests, radiological exams and EKG's. In this position, one must be able to assist in other departments if necessary.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Taking vital signs and monitoring patients for physicians.
  2. Administration of medications and immunizations as ordered by the physician.
  3. Assisting in surgical procedures performed in the office setting.
  4. Following all infection control policies and procedures.
  5. Performs pre-visit planning for preventive and problem focused visits
  6. Inputting of all applicable data into the EMR (Cerner).
  7. Contacting patients with lab results and medication orders as directed by the provider.
  8. Coordination and scheduling of care for patients referred for specialty care.
  9. Scheduling of procedures, future appointments, or diagnostic studies.
  10. Physician schedule in clinic and/or operating room (OR).
  11. Ensuring nursing supplies and medications are properly ordered and available using a kanban system
  12. Acts as a mentor for students
  13. Participating in and supporting CSI work and activities

Essential Skills and Experience

  1. LPN License - MN. Basic
  2. 2-year degree in related field of study.
  3. CPR Certification. BLS. 
  4. Computer skills. Word. Excel. Outlook.
