JOB SUMMARY:

Performs essential maintenance and repair functions to ensure efficient mechanical operations and proper upkeep of all areas of the casino facilities and grounds in an orderly and attractive manner.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Trouble shoots, repairs, installs, monitors and maintains all machinery, equipment, HVAC, electrical systems while using the proper hand and/or power tools.

§ Trouble shoots, repairs, installs, monitors and maintains plumbing, sewage and water systems and fixtures while using the proper hand and/or power tools.

§ Constructs, erects, installs and repairs physical structures of wood, plywood, cement and wallboard, while using the proper hand and/or power tools

§ Installs and repairs floor, ceiling and wall coverings, and performs routine finish work including preparing, painting, staining, trimming, etc

§ Performs preventive and predictive maintenance schedules on a routine basis for the purpose of identifying potential hazards and repairs

§ Performs routine clean up of assigned work areas and maintenance shop areas

§ Must be able to comprehend and follow basic instructions, and adhere to all policies and procedures of the casino and department

§ Must demonstrate good attendance and work initiative and always perform duties in a positive and professional manner

§ Requests materials, supplies and equipment for the purpose of ensuring that adequate materials are available to complete assignments in a timely manner.

§ Must attend all company and department training/meetings as directed

§ Demonstrate strong leadership abilities, work initiative and show good common sense

§ Responsible for all tasks and emergencies that arise on assigned shift and communicate and/or pass on this information to following shifts

§ Complete all routine paperwork and shift reports on a daily basis

§ Knows the location of all shop equipment, materials and supply inventory and all paperwork that relates to maintenance operational procedures

§ Ability to read and comprehend from verbal instructions, blueprints and/or working drawings

§ Must be knowledgeable of and adhere to proper safety methods for equipment/tool operation, chemical use, construction practices and lifting techniques without presenting a direct threat to self or others

§ Must show the ability to prioritize work orders and requests that best fits the maintenance department and the casino.

§ Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work - Perform other job related duties as assigned.

ACCESS TO SENSITIVE AREAS
With security escort in accordance with internal controls.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED required

At least 5 years experience in the building trades

Must be mechanically inclined

Knowledge of materials, methods, principles, practices and the appropriate tools in the following fields:

· Carpentry

· Plumbing

· Electrical

· Welding

· Painting

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

Must be able to stand/walk/bend for up to eight hours; and frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

Must be able to manually lift and/or move up to 50 pounds intermittently. Heavier parts are lifted using other methods.

Must be in good physical condition.

Must be able to work and climb on ladders, scaffolds and man lifts up to 40 feet.

Must be able to work under extreme weather variations and conditions and be exposed to temperature variations and wet and/or humid work conditions.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Must be able to obtain a Class III gaming license
Ability to obtain Pool Operator Certification within one (1) year of employment AND maintain the Certification.

Must satisfactorily complete a 90-day probationary period

Must possess a sensitivity to Indian culture

Must be able to interact successfully with associates and guests

Must be able to work independently and complete assignments with minimal supervision
Must have a telephone Must maintain valid driver’s license and be insurable
Must be able to be flexible and/or coordinate regular scheduled days off, vacations and different start times with approaching weather conditions and scheduled work

Must be able to withstand a smoky environment for extended periods of time, with direct exposure to secondhand smoke.

ON THE JOB TRAINING Must satisfactorily complete casino orientation
Must satisfactorily complete departmental orientation

Must complete all training deemed necessary or mandatory by management

Must be willing to improve professional skills through additional training and development

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $23.41 per hour
