Townshend Elementary School serves 115 PreK-5 students as one of the three West River Education District elementary schools. Our school benefits from an excellent staff and a supportive community. Our staff is dedicated, child-centered and highly qualified; they work together with purpose and are devoted to their jobs and to the children and families and caregivers that we serve. We offer a wide and balanced array of specials classes, an active Farm-to-School program (that includes a vegetable garden), excellent after-school programming, and a robust PBIS culture.
We are currently seeking a Kindergarten classroom teacher to meet the needs of our students. The candidate hired will collaborate with our academic support teachers and our special educators to teach content in alignment with the Common Core, the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and the Career and Civic Life (C3) Framework for Social Studies. As a school district, we have committed to the use of Bridges in Mathematics, and EL Education and Fundations for English Language Arts.
