Job Description:
The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for patient evaluations, care planning, directing, and administering Occupational modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. The ST administers treatments and physical agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. The ST assists patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The Speech Language Pathologist ensures patient charges are accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Speech Language Pathologists coordinate, delegate and supervise responsibilities assigned to support staff (OT/PT Aide, etc.) The speech language Pathologist participates in operational aspects of the department, contributing to performance improvement and CQI activities. Speech Language Pathologists participate in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.
