Overview

Job Summary

The Private Brand Specialist works under the supervision of the Director of Private Brands and will provide assistance for all Private Brand projects including but not limited to : product lifecycle, sourcing, and daily tasks focused on the support of WinCo Private Label programs.

The Private Brands Specialist will perform procurement related functions and provide support to the Director of Private Brands for all aspects of project management, consumer safety and supply chain.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support for private brand projects pertaining to new product development. For example : edit proofs of new packaging, maintenance of product lifecycle documents, and record regulatory and manufacturer compliance tracking.
  • Assist with administration related to sourcing new products and suppliers.
  • Assists with maintenance of manufacturer documents related to supplier approval and product compliance.
  • Participate in productive communication by providing forecast reports to improve supply chain and maximize profitability for Private Brands.
  • Provide support to resolve product and supplier issues for all internal stakeholders including stores and warehouses.
  • Collaborate with internal food safety department on record keeping processes
  • Communicate professionally and efficiently with manufactures.
  • Consistently provide friendly and engaging customer service to internal and external customers
  • Applies continuous improvement processes to enhance work flow, improve job skills and individual knowledge
  • Participation in special projects as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

Education :

Associates Degree in Marketing, Finance, Economics or related field OR equivalent education, training and / or equivalent experience demonstrating considerable knowledge of product lifecycle and procurement in Retail Grocery.

Experience :

  • Minimum two (2) years of working within the food / retail industry.
  • Demonstrating strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) software.
  • Demonstrating understanding of local, state and federal safety regulations (FDA, GRPs, USDA, GAPs, etc.).
  • Exhibit self-motivation to develop and direct projects to maintain timeline.

Ability to :

  • Multi-task and work in a fast-paced, multiple-priority environment.
  • Be highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Be extremely self-motivated, take initiative and drive results.
  • Assist with building working relationships with fellow employees and outside contacts, user groups and vendors.
  • Write and speak clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings.
  • Respectfully challenge standard practices to identify improved practices and processes.
  • Travel as needed to meet business needs.
