Winchester Orthopaedic Associates, LTD is Hiring a Medical Records Coordinator Near Winchester, VA
Essential Duties:
- Scan patient-related paper forms and correspondence into electronic medical record (NextGen).
- Data enter patients' past medical histories (medications, allergies, social history) into electronic medical record.
- Direct incoming electronic faxes to appropriate patient record or employee.
- Assign incoming labs, transcription, test results from outside sources to patient record.
- Manage Patient Portal; assign user tokens and assist patients with enrollment as needed.
- Obtain providers' signatures on patient documents received from outside facilities (home health, physical therapy, etc.); send signed copy back to facility and file in patient record.
- Correspond with outside facilities requesting patient records.
- Assist other departments as needed.

Ability to process or understand technical processes and learn new techniques quickly.
Ability to plan work flow and implement appropriate actions.
