ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Provide high-level professional assistance and support to Upper Management in a broad variety of administrative functions such as organizing, scheduling, coordinating, researching, compiling, exchanging and analyzing information. Act as the point of contact between Upper Management and the general public, customers, vendors, consultants, engineers, and professional groups. Manage activities and the flow of information from Upper Management to constituents, other public agencies and media groups.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Compose correspondence and maintain files. Draft and edit a variety of communications including letters, emails, content for the web, social media, and for communication with the press.
· Assume the task of receiving calls, taking messages and routing correspondence to process requests and queries appropriately.
· Attend Winchester Municipal Utilities Commission Meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
· Maintain positive working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
· Ensure work is detailed, accurate, and completed in a timely manner
· Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Associate's degree (related field) and three years of related experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
· High level of attention to detail.
· Ability to handle job-related tasks with general direction, including identifying and resolving problems.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality, prioritize, communicate and manage work effectively.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
· Exceptional customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Knowledge of public relations with the ability to be courteous and helpful under pressure.
· Proficient in computer usage and Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe.
· Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
· Familiarity with the technology behind social media and web site management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employees is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop or kneel.
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
