JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the operation of multiple saws to cut piece parts of various sizes and lengths.
 
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates saws according to the following process:
Inspect and set up saws manually or using small hand tools
Inspect and change saw blades as necessary
Place steel bars on saws using hoists and lift trucks
Set dials, switches and programs to begin process
Monitor machine and make preparations for next job
Remove part from saw when done and inspect for accuracy
Repeat above steps until job is finished
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
 
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have mechanical and technical abilities and experience. Must be willing to freely move amongst all saws as workload demands. Must be at least 18 years old and be able to drive hoists and lift trucks.
Should have the ability to set up multiple styles of saws. Should be able to read technical data such as blueprints and routings.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required. Manufacturing and basic machine operation experience a must.

Must be able to receive and understand both oral and written directions. Must be able to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization and possess teamwork and collaborative skills.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills required.
 
REASONING ABILITY
Employee must be mechanically competent to work with and maintain saws. Must be able to understand necessity for urgency in deadlines.

Inside, manufacturing environment

1st shift 8am - 4pm or 7am - 3pm
