Job Description – Human Resources Business Partner (Manufacturing)Wilson Tool, Inc., located in White Bear Lake, is seeking a strong, well-rounded HR professional who enjoys building relationships with employees and leaders in a manufacturing setting. The Companywas founded by Ken Wilson 56 years ago and is known for its high precision, tight tolerance manufacturing tooling systems for Stamping, Bending, Punching and Tableting, and employs over 500 employees in Minnesota plus 350 employees in global markets such as the UK, Brazil, Canada, Italy, and Germany. This position will focus on the White Bear Lake location with just over 450 employees.

Job SummaryThe HR business partner (HRBP) is responsible for providing Employee Relations support to plant employees and leaders in the areas of benefits, performance management, talent management, organizational planning, employment policies and employee relations. The successful HRBP acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs and develops integrated solutions. The HRBP participates in interviews, investigations, completing documentation, handling employee disciplinary meetings and performance improvement meetings. This person is the coach, has excellent listening skills, and treats employees respectfully. Integrity is extremely important, as is the ability to handle highly confidential cases, assignments, and projects.Essential Job Functions
  • Ensures a positive employee work environment through strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for manufacturing operations at the plant level by having thorough knowledge of HR practices to include benefits, compensation, transfer and promotion opportunities, culture, available employee services such as the clinic, EAP, discount tickets, ordering company apparel or whatever company offering would help make an employee’s experience at WTI a rewarding one.
  • Represents the company as a visible, approachable, and professional HR practitioner and fosters employee engagement.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough, and objective
investigations.
  • Partner with managers regarding local compensation inquiries, with the ability to interpret and make recommendation based on internal compensation framework.
  • As a member of the HR team, handle regular administrative tasks within the department such as orientations, events, assisting with annual Open Enrollment.
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement to identify opportunities for creating greater efficiencies and streamlined processes through the implementation of system and partnerships.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance including, but not limited to OSHA, ADA, FMLA.
  • Backup for a weekly payroll using ADP.
  • Partners with Recruiting on hires and changes on the plant floor. May assist in recruiting activities.
  • Conducts exit interviews and completes unemployment claims for organization.
  • Assists in administering performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field
  • 5 years as a generalist
  • 2 years in manufacturing
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships with employees and management.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities Act, FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, and Harassment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with full HR life cycle competencies including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits, training, and development.
  • Exceptional organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint; plus, experience with HRIS—ADP a plus.
Preferred
  • PHR, SPHR Certification
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
