Internship Project Outline: Managing Footwear Product Creation Operations

Objective: Enhance the efficiency and coordination of footwear product creation processes by overseeing day-to-day operations and facilitating communication between different teams.

Project Phases:

  • Understanding and Immersion
    • Introduction to Teams: Familiarization with design, production, marketing, and sales teams involved in the product creation process.
    • Product Line Sessions: Participation in and observation of product line discussions to grasp the brand's vision and market demands.
  • Process Streamlining
    • Sample Management: Develop a systematic approach to cataloging and organizing footwear samples for easy accessibility and reference.
    • Workflow Analysis: Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the current product creation process, proposing and implementing solutions for streamlining.
  • Managing Marketing Materials
    • Marketing Material Inventory: Inventory and categorization of existing marketing materials used by the brand, marketing and sales teams.
    • Streamlining Distribution: Develop a process for timely and efficient distribution of marketing materials to the respective teams, ensuring they have the necessary resources for their tasks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Team Liaison: Act as a central point of contact between various departments, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
    • Regular Updates: Conduct regular meetings or reports to update teams on progress, gather feedback, and maintain alignment on project goals.
  • Optimization and Documentation
    • Process Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation outlining optimized processes, including best practices and key learnings.
    • Recommendations and Presentation: Prepare a final presentation summarizing the project, highlighting improvements, and offering recommendations for ongoing enhancement.

    Expected Outcome:

    • Improved efficiency in the product creation process.
    • Enhanced coordination and communication between different teams.
    • Streamlined distribution and access to marketing materials for improved sales and marketing efforts.

    Evaluation:

    • Feedback from team members and supervisors.
    • Assess the impact on efficiency and coordination within the product creation teams.
    • Review of the final documentation and recommendations presented.

    This project aims to provide the intern with a holistic view of footwear product creation operations while allowing them to contribute to streamlining processes and improving overall efficiency.

    What We're Looking For

    Our intern will be working towards an Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Fashion, Merchandising, Management.

    Additional qualifications will include:

    • Strong interest in the footwear industry and marketing principles.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in market research and analysis.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel and basic design software (Adobe Suite, Canva, etc.).
    • Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and independently when required.
    • Previous experience in marketing, merchandising, or related areas is a plus but not mandatory.
