CLASS A/B BUILDING MATERIALS DELIVERY DRIVER

Role Summary: 

Drivers will pick up and deliver materials to and from various locations throughout the Southeast. Equipment driven includes, but is not limited to, tractor-trailer combination with flatbed trailers or box trailers, straight trucks, forklifts, etc. Position involves physical labor, as drivers are responsible for loading, checking, securing and delivering loads, in addition to tarping of all materials. Our drivers are generally home daily and off on the weekends. Hours may vary daily, depending on load requirements. 

Scope of the Position: 

Drivers are based at the Huntsville site but travel daily to make regional pickups and deliveries. 

Responsibilities: 

Responsibilities expected of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

• Delivering building materials to include loading, securing, and unloading 

• Reading orders/paperwork and identifying load errors 

• Maintaining vehicle cleanliness 

• Maintaining company, D.O.T., and traffic regulations 

• Providing excellent customer service 

• Flexibility in work schedule 

Position Qualifications: 

• Must have a Class A/B CDL with a clean MVR 

• Must be able to operate a manual, 10 speed transmission

• Ability to drive in a range of weather and job-site conditions 

• Strong problem-solving skills 

• Strong customer service skills 

Education and Experience: 

• 2 years of CDL driving experience 

• 2 years delivery & customer service experience 

Physical Requirements: 

• Drivers must be able to perform physical labor to include loading, unloading, and securing heavy loads. 

• Heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, walking and standing are required for this position. Weights range from 25 lbs. to 200 lbs. plus. 

• Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather. 

You will be expected to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
