POSITION SUMMARY:
The B-Tech is a critical position in the service department. This position assists with various automotive repair work, support advanced-level technicians in the shop, and acts as a mentor for entry-level technicians.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:1. Perform work specified on the repair order efficiently and per dealership procedures.
2. Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
3. Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
4. Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs.
5. Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
6. Complete assigned training as directed by the supervisor, which is funded by the dealership.

REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES1. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work/education combination.
2. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
3. Two or more years of experience performing the same or similar job duties, including diagnostics, electrical, and engine repair on cars and light-duty trucks.
4. Must have appropriate hand tools to perform the job.

WORKING CONDITIONS:May be standing for up to 100% of the shift and operating machinery applicable to the job. It may
require lifting, pushing, or pulling weights of more than 40 lbs. Duties will be performed indoors in
a climate-controlled environment.
