The Wilson County Health Department is seeking applicants for a Processing Assistant III position for the Wilson Area School-Based Health Center (WASH) School Based Health Clinic Program. The Wilson Area School-Based Health Center (WASH) provides accessible and affordable physical and preventive health services to students and staff. WASH is located at Forest Hills Middle, Beddingfield High, Fike High and Hunt High Schools. Any Wilson County Schools student or staff member can be seen by appointment at WASH for wellness or sick visits. The clinic serves both the insured and uninsured. WASH bills private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare and has a sliding scale fee for non-insured.Hours: This is 10 month position that will work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday during the Wilson County Public School regular school year. Position will not receive a paycheck during the month of July and will receive partial checks in June and August. Work schedule will vary based on school schedule. Extended hours or weekend hours may be required for special events, such as programmatic needs, health fairs, and special clinics. Compensation: The starting salary for a fully qualified Processing Assistant III starts at $25,280 based on a 10 month salary. This position is eligible for benefits with Wilson County Government. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of office and/or technical tasks to accomplish the specialized processing of information, documents, or materials. Employee will typically be the sole processing assistant for their assigned WASH Clinic.
Major duties include document completion, verification, problem identification and resolution, statistical, financial, and/or other record keeping; public contact including receiving and providing information and problem solving; files maintenance and management; composition, calculation, and determination of action or compliance; and office equipment operation. Processing records consists of making labels and making sure the appropriate forms are in the record for the next scheduled appointment. This position will post lab results to patient records, and will respond to doctors or hospitals who call for results from the work done in the lab.
This position may also function as a nurse assistant (with the appropriate licensure) which may consist of measuring vital signs, assisting provider with patient exams, giving patients injections or medications as directed by provider and as permitted by law, collect and prepare samples of blood or other specimens.
This position may be assigned duties related to bio-terrorism and emergency response activities to include staffing of emergency shelters.Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least one year of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Preference: Certified Nursing (CNA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) licensure.
