Summary of position
The primary purpose of your job position is toplan, organize, develop, coordinate, and direct our infection prevention andcontrol program and its activities in accordance with current federal, state,and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern such programs, andas may be directed by the Executive Director, the Director of Nursing, and the Infection Prevention and ControlCommittee to ensure that an effective infection prevention and control programis maintained at all times.
Essential Functions:

- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, coordinate, anddirect our infection prevention and control program in accordance with currentrules, regulations, and guidelines that govern such requirements in nursingcare facilities.
- Ensure that the facility is in compliance with current CMS, CDC, OSHA,State, and local regulations concerning infection prevention and control.
- Serve on, participate in, and attend Infection Prevention andControl Committee meetings.
- Represent the Infection Prevention and Control Committee asrequired during QAPI and other meetings as necessary.
- Meet with residents or family members and explain standard, transmission, or enhanced barrier precautions as necessary.
- Participates in the general orientation programthat orients the new employee to our infection prevention and control andemployee health programs.
- Ensure that all personnel performing tasks that involve potentialexposure to blood/body fluids participate in appropriate in-service trainingprograms
- Assess and/or evaluate new or improved resident care products orprocedures.
Required Education andExperience
- Current RN license with the state
- At least 3 years of demonstrated success in Nursingleadership position.
- Must have good financial and managementskills. Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule. Ability to relate positively,effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members,volunteers and other facility staff. Possess special interest in, and apositive attitude about, working with long-term care residents and theelderly. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Meetsall health requirements, as required by law. Demonstrates basic computerknowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft products
- Must have completed specialized training in infection prevention and control.

- Experience in a fast-paced environment
- Post-acute care or health care experience preferred
