Willowco Collective Learning is Hiring a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Near Cookeville, TN

Experience and Educational Requirements:

Minimum High School Diploma. Completion of 45 hours of college coursework from an accredited university preferred, but willing to train the right candidate. Must be able to pass a background check.
Bachelor’s Degree in ABA, behavioral sciences, human development, special education or related field preferred, but not required.
Ability to obtain Registered Behavior Technician certification as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) within 30 days or current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Will assist with obtaining this certification if needed.
Experience Preferred: Preferred prior experience working with children of all ages in a classroom or 1:1 setting; experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis; Educational, Speech, or Allied Health Services experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide direct 1:1 therapy to children/adolescents with developmental disabilities within community/home/clinic/school settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training. The PRIMARY location for this location is clinic.
Establish and maintain therapeutic relationship by pairing self as a reinforcer and conditioning the value of social interaction with the ABA therapist.
Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as directed by BCBA/BCaBA. Understand the effects consequences have on behavior. Effectively use reinforcement and appropriate extinction procedures to change behavior.
Prompt safe and socially appropriate acceptable replacement behaviors as defined within client’s individual treatment plan.
Fade prompts appropriately to promote both successful and independent responding.
Accurately collect all session data and complete session notes. Data measurement may include Antecedent/Behavior/Consequence, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, fluency aims, event recording, permanent products recording, interval-based recording or any other data collection measurement deemed appropriate by BCBA/BCaBA.
Summarize and report goal plan updates to supervisors. Create and maintain therapy materials as needed.
Utilize safe & appropriate handing procedures when working with clients.
Maintain client dignity and confidentiality.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings.
Understand and explain emergency action procedures (i.e. seizure action plan, crisis situation plan, etc.)

Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly.
Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and community members.
Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA laws.
Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology, and training in order to perform job responsibilities to required standard.
Ability to interpret and implement clinical protocols and supervisor recommendations.
Must maintain a professional appearance with regard to clothing, grooming, hair, and make-up.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment.
Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
Must be willing and able to utilize quick body movements as trained and indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior.
Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community placements.
Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
