Job Title: Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CACII, CADC,II)

JOB STATUS: Full Time or Part Time Contractor

Job Responsibilities:

• Interview individuals and others to determine level of functioning, treatment needs, make recommendations for care and determine suitability for participation in program;
• Complete and maintain accurate electronic clinical documentation and reports regarding individuals’ histories, progress, interventions provided;
• Provide counseling to individuals in care and family members on an individual and/or group format to assist in recovery from substance use disorders;
• Create treatment and relapse prevention plans based on clinical experience, individual/family interviews, treatment needs, and evidence based practices;
• Review and evaluate progress towards recovery goals identified and determine readiness for step down, discharge and aftercare;
• Conduct and/or participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings;
• May provide crisis intervention services as needed.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Experienced with Electronic Health Records

• Basic computer skills, drivers license
• Knowledgeable of state and federal laws associated with alcohol & drug treatment
• Must be able to communicate effectively in written and verbal format
• Able to demonstrate active listening and hope for recovery in interactions with others

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: Documentation will be completed by end of shift on the date service provided

• Return all phone/email inquiries from individuals within 24 hours
• Obtain productivity standard associated with job status
• Minimum 95% clean claims submission the first time
• Completion of required training a minimum of 24 hours prior to due date

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Professional Certification in Alcohol and Drug Counseling (CACII, CADCII, CCADC, CAS, and CACI with Addiction Counselor Trainee with supervision)

• Masters in Counseling or Social Services Field
• Minimum 2-3 years experience post certification

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
