Reports to: Executive Director

FLSA status: exempt

Schedule: 10-6 during the school year; 7:30-3:30, 10-6, or other during the summer

As an exempt position, hours may exceed those scheduled depending on business needs, and weekend work may sometimes be necessary.

• Direct youth program on a daily basis - should be on site (in the building or on field trips) whenever youth are present (in the summer, at least 6 hours per day)
• Work directly with youth as needed to support staff
• Ensure staff coverage; substitute for absent staff
• Coach staff and team members to improve programming
• Ensure the implementation of high-quality activities that align with the Willkie House mission
• Develop and implement strategies to prevent and address youth behavior issues
• Address behavior issues - keep ED informed about incidents and consult with ED on major issues (injury, weapons, etc.)
• Ensure daily and ongoing compliance with HHS regulations
• Manage parent communication - consult with ED on major issues
• Coordinate field trip logistics
• Coordinate guest speakers
• Develop summer programming calendar
• Build and direct programming partnerships
• Coordinate transportation schedules
• Manage youth recruitment; responsible for full enrollment in youth programs
• Manage program volunteers
• Direct the Willkie House food program, including relevant partnerships, menus, food service, and regulatory compliance
• Ensure kitchen, classrooms, and other program spaces are clean at the end of the day
• Manage application, registration, and enrollment process for afterschool and summer programs
• Submit Child Care Assistance claims
• Set up private pay billing and follow up with families with outstanding bills
• Serve on the Willkie House leadership team
• Use judgment to make decisions and provide feedback on major organizational decisions
• Other duties as assigned
