Williamson Eye Center is Hiring an Optician Near Baton Rouge, LA

OPTICIAN JOB SUMMARY: Williamson Eye Center is seeking a friendly and motivated optician to join our growing team! The right candidate has exceptional communication skills, is customer service orientated and enjoys working with patients. This is a multi-faceted role that includes direct patient care as well as administrative duties such as verifying vision insurance and placing optical orders. We offer competitive pay, incentives, and potential growth opportunities within the company.

Responsibilities and Duties (included but not limited to):

● Educate and assist patients with eye care needs based on prescription, lifestyle, occupation and hobbies.

● Accurately fit, measure, and dispense patient eyewear by engaging in patient education and frame selection.

● Perform accurate fittings for eyeglasses and contact lenses based on prescription specifications; operate necessary technology and equipment

● Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for patients and team members.
● Work with optical management on inventory selection and frame board management.

Required Skills:

● Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
● Ability to pleasantly and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
● Excellent computer skills including use of standard office programs
● Ability to perform tasks in a timely manner

Position Qualifications:
● Work experience:

  • Optical experience preferred, but not required.
  • Customer service experience required.

● Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
